Instructions for Using the Attendance Line

Grades 9–12 Attendance Line:  (319) 688-1351

Note: The attendance number is a message-only line. Please DO NOT leave emergency messages on this line.

  • All attendance requests must be called in by a parent or guardian whose name and number are listed in the student’s Infinite Campus account.
    • All-day absence: The message should include: your name, your relationship to the student, the student’s name, and the reason for the absence. The message should be left before the absence occurs or no later than 24 hours after the absence.
    • Late arrival: Leave the message before 9 AM. The message should include: your name, your relationship to the student, the student’s name, and approximate time of arrival.
    • Leaving during the school day: Please call a minimum of 2 hours before the student needs to be dismissed. The message should include: your name, your relationship to the student, the student’s name and the time of dismissal.  This message should be for scheduled appointments or events.

Reminder: The District allows for five full-day excused absences per school year. Medical appointments with proper documentation (school excuse) will not count against these five days.

Students are responsible for communicating with their teachers if they will not be in class (i.e., music lesson, meeting with a counselor, in the health office, etc.). Failure to bring an acceptable pass in a timely manner will result in an unexcused absence.
